Steven P. Daitch
Bio
Steve Daitch has over 35 years of experience developing client and market insights, leading strategic thinking projects and executing strategic plans for professional services firms and legal industry global information, products and services providers. He has invented, led and managed new business start-ups, turned around existing businesses, lead acquisition teams and served as general manager, managing director, COO and CMO with international multi-billion dollar conglomerates to 3-person start-ups.
His career highlights include leading the strategic thinking process which resulted in the restructuring of Thomson Professional Publishing, serving on the West Publishing acquisitions team, creating and leading the first Internet Lab for Thomson Reuters Legal, launching the nation’s first court e-filing service (WestFile); developing the leading online continuing legal education business (West LegalEdcenter), serving as COO of the West Education Business including Foundation Press, West Law School Publishing and BAR/BRI.
Steve has also held executive leadership positions within the Thomson Consulting Services Group including Vice President and CMO of Hildebrandt International, Baker Robbins and Thomson Litigation Consulting. He designed, produced and managed the Legal Executive Briefings at Pebble Beach and Hong Kong for the Managing Partners of the Global 200 Law Firms (2006 – 2010).
Steve’s recent consulting projects have included developing new strategic approaches focused on client first for small and medium size law firms, developing the Western Legal Leaders Council for COOs of mid-size western law firms, and designing, implementing and analyzing cultural assessments for a law firm practice group. He has also worked on new product development with a leading global information company; designed new approaches for business development for a leading west coast law firm and completed a southern California legal market survey of hiring managers plans to hire new lawyers on behalf of a law school.
Steve has a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law and is a member of the California State Bar. He also has a Masters in Professional Services, Firm Management, from The George Washington University. Steve holds a Yellow Belt designation from the Lean Legal Sigma Organization and Certificates in Financial Planning from the Wharton School and in Leadership from the Center for Creative Leadership.
